Over the past 12 years many of the new treatments that have evolved are more natural, completely natural or use the bodies own resources to create the desired result. Look at Thermage for example. You can go for surgery, a facelift, the popular mini face-lift or liposuction for fat or loose skin on your face or body. But if you look at the before and after pictures of non-surgical procedures like Thermage you will see similar results to surgical procedures. It is even more apparent comparing to the popular mini face-lift and for patients that are not in need of dramatic revision. There are terrific results for the face and every single part of the body. In addition the worst outcome from Thermage, Exilis or any other minimally invasive procedure is that a person doesn’t achieve as much of a result as they might be expecting. But even that should be rare if they were given proper expectations at their consult. Surgically, there is the possibility of scarring which could be extensive, lumpiness and loose skin after liposuction and worse. In fact Exilis is being used more and more to help with lumpiness after liposuction.
Let’s take a look at what the patients are gravitating towards. Every article and magazine will tell you that nonsurgical procedures are the fastest growing segment. Within this category there are minimal invasive and even what anyone would have to admit are natural treatments. Younger patients are requesting PRP short for proteinprotein rich plasma or the so-called Dracula facelift over Botox for wrinkles that are just beginning. Using the growth factors from your own blood versus the most powerful neurotoxin on the planet is a pretty clear example of a purely natural solution. The growth factors literally repair wrinkles vs. paralyzing a muscle with Botox. PRP (the bodies own protein rich plasma) is also used for overall facial rejuvenation and sometimes instead of Restyling and other fillers. Carboxytherapy is another example of using the body naturally, every single cell in our bodies take in Oxygen and excrete Carbon Dioxide. That principle is utilized to increase circulation with minute injections of carbon dioxide to improve cellulite, stretch marks and dark under eye circles. The list goes on and on. Cryotherapy facials increase circulation to the face. Another fascinating discovery was acoustic wave therapy, which was originally used for physical therapy to speed recovery of the muscles. The acoustic wave stimulates the muscle to repair more quickly. Apparently the side effect was that deep stimulation improved cellulite, which was ironically discovered by female athletes after doing physical therapy. They reported an improvement of their cellulite. Dr Zdinak and Precision Aesthetics were contacted by a major manufacture to further investigate this phenomena and the rest is history. Finally we are seeing cold lasers come of age led by Illumiwave for hair growth, acne, and fat loss. Cold lasers are much less invasive than hot lasers. As the name implies they are literally cold or don’t even produce any heat but still stimulate our cells in various ways.
The fact that patients are choosing minimally invasive more natural safer treatments is a great trend that will only continue to grow. Dr Lisa Zdinak, Chief Surgeon and Medical director of Precision Aesthetics has spent years bringing no less than 12 new technologies and products from various countries to the United States for her patients. She has put aside surgery to spend more time to research and bring the best natural and minimally invasive solutions for her patients. She is on the forefront of technologies like personal creams utilizing patient’s own growth factors and other cutting edge technologies we will be hearing more about in the future.[ic_youtube keyword=”dr212renew”]
