FAQs on Thermage Procedures

Since the Thermage Procedures are becoming so popular, people are asking me various questions regarding the different procedures involving everything from the time it takes for a treatment to how it works in general. The following are typical of the questions I receive.

What are the various Thermage procedures?
The Thermage procedure employs a patented radiofrequency (RF) technology called Thermacool. It has been clinically proven to tighten and gently lift skin to smooth out wrinkles and renew facial contours. The procedure is fast and easy, and requires no downtime from normal activities. Unlike lasers, the procedure can be performed on patients of all skin types. The Thermacool device has been cleared by the FDA for the non-invasive treatment of facial wrinkles and lines.

What does it feel like?
With each touch of the thermatip device, you will experience a brief, deep heating sensation as the RF energy is delivered to your skin and underlying tissue.

What will my skin feel like after the procedure?

When will I see results?

For the last 2-3 years my wife has been talking and talking about getting some cosmetic work done on her face, around her eyes, her neck, and if there is enough money, maybe some work done on the old tummy section. I have made no comments, thinking that maybe she would forget about it or change her mind. Well, she isn’t going to change her mind and she certainly hasn’t forgotten about it yet. Since our anniversary is coming up in a couple of weeks, I thought I would surprise her and give her the cosmetic work as part of my anniversary gift for her.

Have they come along way with cosmetic improvement procedures. I had no idea of the advances that have been made in recent years. We went to several plastic surgeons, got doctor referrals, and then a friend of my wife told her about the fairly new and very popular Thermage Procedures that are available now, and soaring in popularity throughout the country. And her friend referred us to Dr Lisa.

She ended up going to Dr. Lisa Zdinak at Precision Aesthetics New York and my wife and I are so happy with the results that were attained. We would recommend Dr Lisa and her staff to anyone.

After being asked by one of my highly prized part time employee for some time off to have some cosmetic procedures, I assumed that she meant she would be away from work for at least a few days, or maybe a week. Because I knew how bad she wanted the facial work done, I reluctantly gave the old ‘okay’ and wished her well. The next day a little after noon, there was Sarah sitting at her desk, working away like normal. I asked about the cosmetic procedure she was supposed to get, and she said she went in a 9AM and it’s all completed. I have to say that knowing what she wanted done and seeing her now, was a miracle. She had work done on her chin area, and on the area around her eyes.

She explained to me that she was referred to the Thermage Procedures and did not have to have any anesthesia, no knives or fillers are used, no pre procedure prep, and there is no post procedure follow ups required. This works on the face area and the other areas of the body, are FDA approved, and the improvements continue for about 6 months or so. There is hardly any downtime, and most people return to their daily routine almost immediately.

thermage misinformation, misleading and wrong information

I had to say something. I was actually on a doctor’s website this morning and I am sure he is not that ignorant, or maybe he is, or the person writing his blog, or both. The person said thermage is a multiple treatment procedure and they quoted a low cost. Everything they said makes no sense. It is a one time treatment. Many many years later the effect of my one treatment are so obvious that I look better today then 7 years ago before my single treatment. Its really scary the amount of misinformation out there. Is it possible that he is not treating properly as well ? Its pretty frightening. Make sure you go to a Pinnacle award or black diamond award winner. And dont forget they are now awarding that for Fraxel as well. So it could be awarded for the combined experience of fraxel and thermage. If you really want to narrow it down to the best, go to one that is Black Diamond and Pinnacle award for thermage only, you can tell because they would not even have a fraxel… It just shows that they are focused and more experienced at Thermage alone. I actually just went back to the doctor’s website. He said the treatment could take a few minutes to an hour. I did a little research, If he is charging that little he could be using reconditioned or black market tips risking burning the patient, or perhaps he is splitting tips meaning he is treating more than one person on the same tip. Kinda like a puppy mill for thermage. Whatever he is doing he certainly is not committed to getting the best results. I have never heard of needing more than one treatment for the same area. He clearly has no clue or needs retraining. I actually wrote to the President of Thermage to please have his rep call him and retrain him and teach him the right way to do the procedure
