I answer the phones on nights and weekends just to be helpful to the poor confused consumer, who is obviously working hard all day to have the money to afford these treatments. Sadly every doctor looking to make a buck and every manufacturer looking to make a buck are overstating and overselling. The average doctor that has never spent any time in formally educating him or herself in cosmetic procedures let alone doing fellowships and attending conferences and studying full time, goes out there buys one machine and claims it does it all. Its simply not true. This time of the year when everyone is getting “beach ready” we are busy doing the right thing. Some people simply have a little cellulite which acoustic wave is excellent at reducing. Patients love it ! Does thermage help a little with cellulite ? Yes, but if you have an acoustic wave machine that is what is going to do a better job. What about fat ? Sure once again Thermage is good and many international patients come in just to do or redo their Thermage with us. They love the fact that its a single treatment and they can get a nice result assuming they are going to someone who knows what they are doing and is actually using the right number of pulses and even multiple tips. I laugh when I hear the prices they are quoted. We sometimes use more than $2000 in consumables for an extensive body treatment. So whoever quoted them a price of $2000 is either using bootleg tips from China, not using the right number of pulses or the right number of tips and they will not get a good treatment or worse yet they could get burned with bootleg tips. Actually I will write another blog post on this. Back to today’s comment, The right machine for your treatment. So back to fat. Exilis, http://www.precisionaestheticsmd.com/services-exilis-nonsurgical-fat-reduction.html which we, Precision Aesthetics, were the first to introduce to New York, is actually the best machine for fat loss, or body shaping. Stretch marks ? Carboxytherapy. The point is dont even think of going to someone who just bought one machine, barely knows how it works, has not been doing it for more than 7 years, doesn’t have at least 4 different machines that excel in each area. If you are going to get your body in shape. Most of our patients get treated with at least 2 or 3 machines. We even are using Illumiwave Lipocontour 635. Its a cold laser that literally allows the fat to leak out of the cells into the interstitial space in between the cells. The point is the right machine or combination of machines for your treatment. Its all individualized treatments. It took me 8 years of constant studying and attending conferences to get to the point where I know all the machines in the market place and which ones are safe and effective for different problems. Dont allow some fast talking salesman or seminar convince you that one machine is going to solve all of your problems. Its simply not true. Different types of energy reach different depths, where the fat lies, where the collage network is. We are talking about one machine using radio frequency another ultrasound. Carboxytherapy is injecting Co2 gas. That actually helps circulation which fades the stretch marks. Are you starting to understand ? These are completely different technologies that are perfectly suited to and excel at one particular problem. That is why we use three or more different machines to treat one person. Get a real consultation, free by the way, and get a custom treatment to get you in your best “bikini” shape now before the summer starts and enjoy it. We can have you looking your best by 4th of July while looking better and better every week thereafter. But dont wait any longer. At least get your consult now.

Facelift Procedure
THE BAD NEWS:
As we grow older, we all experience the breakdown of the collagen that provides structure to our face. This happens faster in some people than it does in others, however we all will experience this at some time. When this happens, we’ll begin to notice fine lines and wrinkles forming on our faces, around our eyes, nose, neck and other areas.
THE GOOD NEWS:
Today, the Thermage Facelift procedure has become the answer to many of these problems by stimulating the growth of new collagen. The popular procedure reduces wrinkles and renews facial contours and is achieved without any surgery, and very little downtime on the patients part. The most common benefits of using the Thermage Facelift procedure is achieving tighter skin and renewing your natural facial contouring. This procedure can smooth out wrinkles, leaving you with a more radiant and younger looking appearance. The Thermage Facelift procedure can take anywhere from a few minutes to an hour, depending on how large of an area being treated. The Thermage Facelift procedure has been referred to as the “lunch hour facelift”, allowing the patient to return to work looking like a new person and feeling good inside also. Thermage is performed by trained and certified physicians in their medical offices. Check the Yellow Pages or go online to find the nearest Thermage physician to you.
Hand Rejuvenation by Thermage
Most of us have heard about the Thermage Skin Tightening treatments which have grown more and more popular in recent years because of the lack of down time for the patient, no incisions or surgery involved, and the fast and positive results attained with all of the Thermage Procedures. If we are looking for tightening of the skin on the face, neck, eyes, arms, legs, tummy or anyplace on our bodies, but are not ready for surgery, the popular Thermage Treatments have become the answer. Thermage has become famous for its body contouring treatments, cellulite treatments, face and neck wrinkle removal, the under eye bag treatments, tummy and buttock skin area treatments.
What about the hands and rejuvenation of the skin on the hands and lightening of the age spots that slowly develop over time? Many people forget that their hands often reflect the signs of age and years of excessive sun exposure and exposure to harsh chemicals in the home and at work. Whether it is brown spots, crepey skin texture or prominent veins, the hands may give away your true age faster than anything else, especially when other parts of your skin have been treated or protected from exposure to harsh chemicals and to the sun. Over time and as we get older, the veins on the back of our hands appear more prominent because the skin becomes thinner due to collagen loss. At the same time age spots may appear both on the hands and arms.
The skin on the back of the hands is delicate and fragile and treating it requires skill and care.
Dr. Lisa Zdinak, chief surgeon and medical director of Precision Aesthetics in Manhattan and Palm Beach has a solid solution for her patients regarding the widespread problem of aged and wrinkled hands and those nasty age spots. Thermage has developed the technology possible to tighten and thicken the delicate skin that develops on the hands. Hands by Thermage is the latest non-invasive treatment in the large suite of Thermage skin tightening procedures available at Dr. Zdinaks offices and is designed to treat patients who want younger looking hands without the surgery, injections or downtime. A Hands by Thermage procedure takes approximately 30 minutes, after which the patient enjoys immediate results with no downtime. Results continue to improve over the next six months as new collagen forms.
Summertime is on its way
Well, I hate to admit this but I recently went into a men’s shop, then a department store men’s department and discovered something I really didn’t want to know or admit to. Yes, I tried on the newest bathing suits, hoping to find one to wear for the upcoming summer season and the beach.
I thought after trying on several at the exclusive men’s shop that it was just the styles, so went to a well known department store downtown, and again I was shocked at what I saw in the mirrors there after trying on several suits. It wasn’t nice. The bulges, wrinkles and flab that has developed was not flattering to say the least. I was telling my friend about my crazy shopping trip and he told me about where his wife and himself had gone recently to get some ‘skin tightening’ advice and treatments. Its called ‘Thermage Procedures’ and administered by certified physicians, and the procedures are available nationwide, and are FDA approved.

Thank goodness for Thermage and the great results I got from the short time I had to spend there to get the fantastic results.
Thermage New Face CPT
It seems like yesterday when the Thermage CPT-Precision was being introduced. Below is the first release about the new tip.
OCTOBER 12, 2009
Newest CPT Vibrating Face Tip Yields Maximum Skin Tightening with Minimal Discomfort. Thermage grants Dr. Lisa Zdinak exclusive access to debut the Face Tip with Vibrating Hand piece in New York City.
How does this latest technology differ from previous offerings?
- Greater Skin Tightening Through A New Heating Algorithm
The redesigned facial treatment tips deliver enhanced heat distribution and uniformity, which lead to improved volumetric heating. A greater volume of tissue is heated to target temperatures and the heating is more evenly distributed across the treatment area. Data from clinical studies demonstrate that this system heats four times more tissue to therapeutic temperatures than current technologies. This translates into even more skin tightening than what was available with the prior facial tips!
- Increased Comfort Through “Comfort Pulse Technology”
The new system employs “Comfort Pulse Technology” along with a new vibrating handpiece to enhance efficacy and greatly improve patient comfort. The heat is now more concentrated directly into the tissue being treated with less spillage onto the edges of the tip, eliminating that “pinch” at the end of the energy pulse.

‘Hi Tech’ Advances and the ‘Thermage Procedures’
I never cease to be amazed at how much we are benefiting from all of the new technology that keeps feeding our imaginations and our practical everyday needs.
An example of this is The Thermage Procedures, which offers new and highly advanced hi-tech solutions for some of our everyday cosmetic improvement needs. In recent years, these various procedures have shot to the forefront in treating under eye bags, sagging chins, stretch marks, lip augmentation, tummy tightening, thighs and buttocks tightening, eliminating the need for surgery, implants, etc. Thermage can also temporarily reduce the appearance of cellulite. Hi-tech radiofrequency technology is used to heat the deep, collagen rich layers of your skin which helps tighten existing collagen and stimulate formation of new collagen, resulting in reduced sagging, renewed contours and improves the texture and smoothness of the skins surface.

Say Happy Anniversary with Thermage
For the last 2-3 years my wife has been talking and talking about getting some cosmetic work done on her face, around her eyes, her neck, and if there is enough money, maybe some work done on the old tummy section. I have made no comments, thinking that maybe she would forget about it or change her mind. Well, she isn’t going to change her mind and she certainly hasn’t forgotten about it yet. Since our anniversary is coming up in a couple of weeks, I thought I would surprise her and give her the cosmetic work as part of my anniversary gift for her.
After I told her what I had in mind, she loved it and asked if I wanted to come with her to find the doctor or clinic, and basically check out a few to get a better idea of costs. WOW ! Have they come along way with cosmetic improvement procedures. I had no idea of the advances that have been made in recent years. We went to several plastic surgeons, got doctor referrals, and then a friend of my wife told her about the fairly new and very popular Thermage Procedures that are available now, and soaring in popularity throughout the country. And her friend referred us to Dr Lisa.
She ended up going to Dr. Lisa Zdinak at Precision Aesthetics New York and my wife and I are so happy with the results that were attained. We would recommend Dr Lisa and her staff to anyone.
Is Thermage Worth It
Most Thermage Procedures take about 45 minutes for facial problems and up to an hour and a half for most other body areas. Of course this depends on the condition of the area, the location, treatment size, etc. These procedures are short and most procedures only require a single treatment, so it will not disrupt any modern lifestyle or your daily routine. No need for any ‘pre-procedures’ or any special care after the procedure. A temporary redness or minor swelling goes away after around 24 hours. General anesthesia is not required, but to make sure you are comfortable the doctor may offer light pain medications prior to treatment.
Vogue Magazine June 2009
Looking back at the 2009 Vogue Magazine it had a terrific article in Vogue Magazine on “Fat Solutions” They interviewed a number of select physicians from NY to Beverly Hills on the various solutions available for body shaping, removing fat, and cellulite reduction. Dr Zdinak is a recognized expert on both Thermage (the only Pinnacle & Black Diamond Award winner in NY and frequent lecturer) and one of the only providers of carboxytherapy, so she was interviewed extensively. Read the whole article and see what the experts have to say. We constantly travel the world to ensure that we have what we believe to be the best options available anywhere for our patients. Our goal is to provide highly effective, minimally invasive treatments with little to no downtime. You can put on your bikini and go straight to the beach or leave our office for a black tie event looking your best.

The cure for microbial phobia? Turn on (the laser), tune in (to radio waves), and drop some acid (glycolic, of course).
