THE BAD NEWS:
As we grow older, we all experience the breakdown of the collagen that provides structure to our face. This happens faster in some people than it does in others, however we all will experience this at some time. When this happens, we’ll begin to notice fine lines and wrinkles forming on our faces, around our eyes, nose, neck and other areas.

THE GOOD NEWS:
Today, the Thermage Facelift procedure has become the answer to many of these problems by stimulating the growth of new collagen. The popular procedure reduces wrinkles and renews facial contours and is achieved without any surgery, and very little downtime on the patients part. The most common benefits of using the Thermage Facelift procedure is achieving tighter skin and renewing your natural facial contouring. This procedure can smooth out wrinkles, leaving you with a more radiant and younger looking appearance. The Thermage Facelift procedure can take anywhere from a few minutes to an hour, depending on how large of an area being treated. The Thermage Facelift procedure has been referred to as the “lunch hour facelift”, allowing the patient to return to work looking like a new person and feeling good inside also. Thermage is performed by trained and certified physicians in their medical offices. Check the Yellow Pages or go online to find the nearest Thermage physician to you.

Most of us have heard about the Thermage Skin Tightening treatments which have grown more and more popular in recent years because of the lack of down time for the patient, no incisions or surgery involved, and the fast and positive results attained with all of the Thermage Procedures. If we are looking for tightening of the skin on the face, neck, eyes, arms, legs, tummy or anyplace on our bodies, but are not ready for surgery, the popular Thermage Treatments have become the answer. Thermage has become famous for its body contouring treatments, cellulite treatments, face and neck wrinkle removal, the under eye bag treatments, tummy and buttock skin area treatments.

What about the hands and rejuvenation of the skin on the hands and lightening of the age spots that slowly develop over time? Many people forget that their hands often reflect the signs of age and years of excessive sun exposure and exposure to harsh chemicals in the home and at work. Whether it is brown spots, crepey skin texture or prominent veins, the hands may give away your true age faster than anything else, especially when other parts of your skin have been treated or protected from exposure to harsh chemicals and to the sun. Over time and as we get older, the veins on the back of our hands appear more prominent because the skin becomes thinner due to collagen loss. At the same time age spots may appear both on the hands and arms.
The skin on the back of the hands is delicate and fragile and treating it requires skill and care.

Dr. Lisa Zdinak, chief surgeon and medical director of Precision Aesthetics in Manhattan and Palm Beach has a solid solution for her patients regarding the widespread problem of aged and wrinkled hands and those nasty age spots. Thermage has developed the technology possible to tighten and thicken the delicate skin that develops on the hands. Hands by Thermage is the latest non-invasive treatment in the large suite of Thermage skin tightening procedures available at Dr. Zdinaks offices and is designed to treat patients who want younger looking hands without the surgery, injections or downtime. A Hands by Thermage procedure takes approximately 30 minutes, after which the patient enjoys immediate results with no downtime. Results continue to improve over the next six months as new collagen forms.

It seems like yesterday when the Thermage CPT-Precision was being introduced. Below is the first release about the new tip.

OCTOBER 12, 2009
Newest Thermage CPT Vibrating Face Tip Yields Maximum Skin Tightening with Minimal Discomfort. Thermage grants Dr. Lisa Zdinak exclusive access to debut the Thermage CPT Face Tip with Vibrating Handpiece in New York City.

Lisa A. Zdinak, M.D., Chief Surgeon and Medical Director of Precision Aesthetics and three-time Pinnacle Award Winning Thermage Physician, is pleased to have been chosen by Thermage to exclusively debut the Thermage CPT Face Tip and Vibrating Handpiece in New York City.

How does this latest technology differ from previous offerings?

Thermage CPT stands for “Comfort Pulse Technology” and is representative of Thermage’s continued efforts to provide the most effective and comfortable skin tightening treatment available on the aesthetic market today. Comfort Pulse Technology achieves the following:

Greater Skin Tightening Through A New Heating Algorithm
The redesigned facial treatment tips deliver enhanced heat distribution and uniformity, which lead to improved volumetric heating. A greater volume of tissue is heated to target temperatures and the heating is more evenly distributed across the treatment area. Data from clinical studies demonstrate that the Thermage CPT system heats four times more tissue to therapeutic temperatures than current technologies. This translates into even more skin tightening than what was available with the prior facial tips!

Increased Comfort Through “Comfort Pulse Technology”
The new Thermage CPT system employs “Comfort Pulse Technology” along with a new vibrating handpiece to enhance efficacy and greatly improve patient comfort.

The new CPT technology helps lessen discomfort in the following ways:
1. A new vibrating handpiece offers a clinically proven improvement in patient comfort. In controlled, split-faced clinical studies, comparing treatment of over 40 patients with vibration to treatment without vibration, all patients preferred being treated with vibration.
2. The new energy delivery algorithm interweaves pulsed radio frequency delivery with cooling bursts mimicking Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation (“TENS”) therapy, to disrupt the brain’s neural response and improve comfort during treatment.
3. The heat is now more concentrated directly into the tissue being treated with less spillage onto the edges of the tip, eliminating that “pinch” at the end of the energy pulse.

Thermage is a safe, non-invasive skin-tightening procedure with no downtime that is clinically proven to tighten, contour, and rejuvenate the skin in a single treatment. Immediate results are visible and continue to improve for up to six months.

In recent years, the various Thermage Procedures have shot to the forefront in treating under eye bags, sagging chins, stretch marks, lip augmentation, tummy tightening, thighs and buttocks tightening, eliminating the need for surgery, implants, etc.

For the last 2-3 years my wife has been talking and talking about getting some cosmetic work done on her face, around her eyes, her neck, and if there is enough money, maybe some work done on the old tummy section. I have made no comments, thinking that maybe she would forget about it or change her mind. Well, she isn’t going to change her mind and she certainly hasn’t forgotten about it yet. Since our anniversary is coming up in a couple of weeks, I thought I would surprise her and give her the cosmetic work as part of my anniversary gift for her.

After I told her what I had in mind, she loved it and asked if I wanted to come with her to find the doctor or clinic, and basically check out a few to get a better idea of costs. WOW ! Have they come along way with cosmetic improvement procedures. I had no idea of the advances that have been made in recent years. We went to several plastic surgeons, got doctor referrals, and then a friend of my wife told her about the fairly new and very popular Thermage Procedures that are available now, and soaring in popularity throughout the country. And her friend referred us to Dr Lisa.

She ended up going to Dr. Lisa Zdinak at Precision Aesthetics New York and she and I are so happy with the results that were attained. We would recommend Dr Lisa and her staff to anyone.

Most Thermage Procedures take about 45 minutes for facial problems and up to an hour and a half for most other body areas. Of course this depends on the condition of the area, the location, treatment size, etc. These procedures are short and most procedures only require a single treatment, so it will not disrupt any modern lifestyle or your daily routine. No need for any ‘pre-procedures’ or any special care after the procedure. A temporary redness or minor swelling goes away after around 24 hours. General anesthesia is not required, but to make sure you are comfortable the doctor may offer light pain medications prior to treatment.
