A little honesty please comparing surgery to non surgical for tummy
I just read another article that was lacking honesty and also knowledge by a DOCTOR ! The doctor compared “laser skin tightening” to a tummy tuck. Lasers are only for superficial wrinkles, like smile lines, or getting rid of red spots Is it possible he doesn’t even know that much ? Each frequency, wave or technology, will penetrate to a different depth radio frequency goes deeper to the collagen layer, ultrasound deeper, acoustic wave deeper yet, originally for muscle physical therapy recently was discovered to do an amazing job on cellulite, we were asked to do a study on it. To be clear and even more specific as an aside a cold laser can leak fat cells like Zerona or Illumiwave lipocontour, (requiring many sessions and discipline exercise and diet. But thats getting into the weeds the point is the guy is an MD and clueless and will remain nameless, But he is obviously selling tummy tucks for a fortune and is unhappy people are getting terrific results non surgically and without complications. Thermage can get up to a FEW inches right off the table, on the Doctors TV show they claimed 5 inches right off the table, we are a little more careful to under promise and over deliver. You also will get a smooth result. If you want to compare the two the ultimate irony is that one of our greatest source of clientele is that many come to us after the lipo or tummy tuck surgery to remove the bumps and lumps left over after the surgery. PS If you are 100 pounds overweight get a lap band for your health if you then can carry your loose skin in a suitcase,, yea thats surgery, but a few inches NO, thats non surgical. Here is one example. PS if you have more than 5 inches to lose, you can use the illumiwave lipocontour ( cold laser) to leak fat cells, but like Zerona, it requires a comprehensive program along with it, dont let anyone tell you different, even though we sell it we are not promoting it as a standalone solution. ( maybe another post) But keep our card for post surgery 🙂 and dont let anyone lie to you, do your homework.

Melatonin For Sleep
How many of us are finding it more and more difficult to fall asleep at night, and stay asleep? When this happens most of us blame it on some sort of stress, or find some other excuse to blame it on. Yes, in fact we all get stressed out over money problems, work, traffic, relationships, kids, and for many other reasons. But stress isn’t the only cause of not being able to fall asleep at night. For many years, we have been aware of the positive role that the hormone Melatonin plays in our lives, especially when it comes to the subject of what Melatonin contributes to us being able to get a good nights sleep. In addition to it being used to ease insomnia, it has been used to protect our cells from free-radical damage, combat jet lag, to boost our immune system, prevent cancer and to extend life. Melatonin has shown the most promise in short-term regulation of sleep patterns, including jet lag. Early animal studies in the mid-1960s revealed its ability to affect sexual function, skin color, and other mammalian functions. Melatonin is one of the hormones produced by the pineal gland in all vertebrates. In addition to being produced in vertebrates, melatonin is also found in plants, bacteria, unicellular eukaryotes, and invertebrates.
Normal melatonin secretion is suppressed by light and stimulated by periods of darkness. Nocturnal secretion of Melatonin is at its highest during childhood, and then decreases as we get older. Research has shown that Melatonin also functions as an important antioxidant, and is involved in the body’s immune response. The synthetic versions have not been evaluated by the FDA for safety, effectiveness or purity, and all potential risks and/or advantages may not be fully known or understood. There are no regulations or manufacturing standards presently in place for the synthetic versions of the compound.
The use of melatonin derived from animal pineal tissue may carry the risk of contamination or the means of transmitting viral material. The synthetic form of this medication does not carry the risk however. There is little or no evidence of any major toxicities with melatonin, even at high doses. Possible adverse reactions might include depression, dizziness, enuresis, excessive daytime somnolence, headache, and nausea, and of course drowsiness if you drive after taking Melatonin. When given to animals, Melatonin caused some changes in blood pressure and affected fertility levels. Such effects in humans would be a medical risk for people with heart-related problems, hypertension and stroke, kidney disease and sleep apnea as well as for women of child-bearing age, so it is always wise to consult your physician prior to starting a routine intake of any herbal/health supplement such as synthetic Melatonin. Overall, research indicates improved sleep when Melatonin is taken at the appropriate time for jet lag and shift work, or to help speed up falling asleep. Appropriate dosage and any safety risks will become clearer with further research.

I answer the phones on nights and weekends just to be helpful to the poor confused consumer, who is obviously working hard all day to have the money to afford these treatments. Sadly every doctor looking to make a buck and every manufacturer looking to make a buck are overstating and overselling. The average doctor that has never spent any time in formally educating him or herself in cosmetic procedures let alone doing fellowships and attending conferences and studying full time, goes out there buys one machine and claims it does it all. Its simply not true. This time of the year when everyone is getting “beach ready” we are busy doing the right thing. Some people simply have a little cellulite which acoustic wave is excellent at reducing. Patients love it ! Does thermage help a little with cellulite ? Yes, but if you have an acoustic wave machine that is what is going to do a better job. What about fat ? Sure once again Thermage is good and many international patients come in just to do or redo their Thermage with us. They love the fact that its a single treatment and they can get a nice result assuming they are going to someone who knows what they are doing and is actually using the right number of pulses and even multiple tips. I laugh when I hear the prices they are quoted. We sometimes use more than $2000 in consumables for an extensive body treatment. So whoever quoted them a price of $2000 is either using bootleg tips from China, not using the right number of pulses or the right number of tips and they will not get a good treatment or worse yet they could get burned with bootleg tips. FDA Approves BOTOX® for Temporary Improvement of Crow’s Feet

Allergan, Inc., (NYSE: AGN) today announced approval by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to market BOTOX® Cosmetic (onabotulinumtoxinA), for an additional indication to temporarily treat moderate to severe lateral canthal lines, commonly known as “crow’s feet” lines. BOTOX® Cosmetic is the first and only product of its kind approved for this indication. BOTOX® Cosmetic, approved in the United States in 2002 for the temporary improvement of moderate to severe glabellar lines (frown lines between the brows) for patients aged 18 to 65 years, remains the number-one minimally invasive aesthetic medical treatment globally.
